Aftercare

  • Immediately - 1-2 hours after your appointment, wash your hands and then gently, wipe your brows with the sterile wipe provided to you in your aftercare pack. If you are experiencing any fluid leaking from your brows, pat them dry with a clean paper towel to prevent any fluid from building up and potentially causing any scabbing.

Increase your water intake for the next 2 weeks. This can help prevent flakiness, aid in reducing sebum production, and reduce pore size, as well as aiding your autoimmune system in the healing process. All of this means healthier skin, and better color retention!

Days 2-10 - Two to three times per day, gently wash your brows with an unscented, gentle cleanser and clean hands, and pat them dry with a paper towel immediately after. Gently, with a Q-tip or clean hands, apply a thin layer of the balm provided to you in your aftercare pack. Be sure to apply the balm directly to the skin, and not just the brow hairs. If you have oily skin, you may want to repeat this process more often.

Keep your brows dry and untouched. Avoid getting them wet when you shower or sweat. Avoid taking extra long or steamy showers. Avoid putting your face directly in the stream of water, and avoid getting any shampoos or products in your brows while showering. If you do get any product in your brows, rinse with water. After showering, pat your brows dry. Do not rub them excessively while washing or drying them, as this can produce flakiness, or pick off scabs or flakes too soon, resulting in ink loss.

If you are experiencing flaking or scabbing, you may want to apply the balm more often. Do not apply it in a thick layer. It is imperative to apply a THIN layer, just enough to moisturize the skin, but not enough to produce a soaking effect.

It is normal to develop scabbing or flaking in the healing process. Do not pick at the scabs. If a scab is picked off too early, it can take pigment with it, resulting in a patchy healed result. Accidents happen, but do your best to leave scabs and flakes untouched.

Do not apply any makeup to the brow area, and keep your skin care in that area minimal.

Do not begin using skincare with active ingredients (Retinoids, Vitamin C, Glycolic Acid, AHAs/BHAs, Niacinamide, Salicylic Acid, Brightening or anti-aging products) until at least 2 weeks after your brow procedure. If you resume use of these, please note that when it comes time for your touch up, you should stop use of those products 2 weeks before your touch up.

Long term - Commit to a daily facial sunscreen. UV and sun exposure will lighten the pigment, resulting in fading and color loss. I make sure to apply a facial sunscreen any day the UV Index is at 3 or above. (This will also help with general skin health, and the additional aging effects the sun has on our skin! Be sure to apply your facial sunscreen on the neck as well. You’ll thank me later ;) )

Any anti-aging products and excess exfoliation may aid in color loss and fading as well. I would avoid using these products on the brow area.

If you get facials or any treatments from skin care professionals, be sure to notify them that you have had your brows tattooed beforehand.

  • Immediately - Use a sterile wipe to remove any excess leakage and fluids once every half hour after your appointment until bedtime. You have a wipe provided in your aftercare bag for this. You may also use a clean paper towel to gently pat your lips dry. This will prevent the fluid from drying and creating scabs on your lips.

Avoid spicy or extra salty foods, alcoholic beverages, and hot and colored liquids for 24 hours, as this will irritate your freshly tattooed lips, and potentially dry them out.

Days 2-10 - Use the lip gloss provided to you in your aftercare bag as needed. Apply in a thin layer, just to help retain moisture.

Be sure to stay hydrated for the next two weeks as you’re healing. To help prevent dryness and flakiness, you may want to run a humidifier while you sleep, and apply the lip gloss provided to you in your aftercare kit after eating.

It is normal to develop scabbing or flaking in the healing process. Do not bite or pick at the scabs. If a scab is picked off too early, it can take pigment with it, resulting in a patchy healed result. Accidents happen, and the mouth is a very active area, but do your best to leave scabs and flakes untouched.

Avoid leaving your lips wet with water. Do not apply any makeup or skin care to the lip area.

Long term - Sunscreen will protect your color! Invest in a Chapstick or lip butter with SPF in it.

If you get any facials or treatments from skincare professionals, be sure to notify them that you’ve had your lips tattooed beforehand.

  • Immediately - It is normal to experience redness or swelling in the first day or two. You may apply a cold pack for 10 minutes to relieve the discomfort. Always be sure to wrap your cold pack in a clean paper towel before applying to avoid any cold damage.

One hour after your procedure, or when you get home, splash your eyes with room temperature water to clean them.

Increase your water intake for the next 2 weeks. This can help prevent flakiness, aid in reducing sebum production, and reduce pore size, as well as aiding your autoimmune system in the healing process. All of this means healthier skin, and better color retention!

If you have oily skin, you may want to use blotting pads a few times per day to keep your eyeliner dry.

Days 2-10 - Keep your eyes dry and clean. Be sure to pat them dry with a clean paper towel after showering, and wash and dry them after sweating.

You may wash your eyeliner 2-3 times per day with a gentle, unscented facial cleanser and clean hands. Any cleansers formulated for sensitive skin work. After washing, gently pat your eyes dry with a paper towel. Apply a thin layer of the balm provided in your aftercare kit with a Q-tip or clean fingers.

Avoid rubbing your eyes, as this may pull off flakes or scabs during healing, resulting in a patchy healed result. If you are experiencing flaking or scabbing, and itching or skin tightness because of this, you may apply the balm more often.

Do NOT apply a thick layer of the balm. It is imperative to apply it in a thin layer, just enough to moisturize, but not so much as to cause a soaking effect. Ensure that your eye area is completely dry before applying any moisturizers.

Do not apply any makeup to the eye area.

Any anti-aging products may aid in color loss and fading as well. I would avoid using these products on the eye area.

If you get facials or any treatments from skin care professionals, be sure to notify them that you have had your eyelids tattooed beforehand.
